- Raymond Knutsen’s first Deposition
Family Tradition of Abuse
He testified that it was plausible I tied up my son in the basement while my brothers and niece were present, and said my family could “keep it quiet” because covering up abuse was “a family tradition.” He claimed my family had “covered up the father’s abuse forever”.
Duct Tape and Ropes
He alleged my son was duct-taped “for days on end, urinating on himself,” and that the “signs” included irritated lips and bruises. When pressed, he attributed the bruises to “the ropes”.
Bizarre Behavior in the Living Room
He said he saw me at 3 a.m. standing in the living room with my hands over my ears, singing at the top of my lungs and pacing for hours.
Anger Narrative
He described me as “the angriest person” he had ever met. He testified that I screamed at drivers and pedestrians, calling them “fat, ugly people” and saying they “should be run over,” and claimed he feared I would hit someone with my car.
Cult and Freak Labeling
He said that my father had called me “a total freak” when I was a child and predicted that I would “run off and join a cult”.
Complicity of My Family
He alleged that a “good amount” of the Cegalis family was complicit in abuse — “knowing what’s going on and not saying anything”.
