In 2018, the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Psychologists disciplined Bambi M. Rattner, Psy.D.
According to the official Consent Agreement:
- Rattner admitted she was supposed to provide trauma therapy to a child under a court order.
- Instead, she effectively acted as a child custody evaluator while being financially tied to the father and stepmother — creating a conflict of interest.
- The Board stated that she:
- Reinforced a false trauma and failed to address actual trauma caused by the father/stepmother.
- Conducted inadequate examinations of both child and mother.
- Misinterpreted assessments, basing treatment on faulty conclusions.
- The Board cited violations of multiple APA Ethics Code standards

Outcome: Rattner’s license was placed on two years’ probation, requiring:
- Weekly supervision (96 sessions total) by a board-approved psychologist.
- Extra coursework in family systems, high-conflict divorces, and risk management.
- Ongoing quarterly reports to the Board.
The agreement is public record and explicitly states she waived her right to a hearing — meaning she accepted discipline without contest.
