During her deposition, Marilyn Knutsen was asked about her educational background. She testified that she had not finished college and that the last college-level institution she attended was in Toronto.
Q. What was the last school that you attended, college level?
A. In Toronto.Q. What was the name of that university?
A. Oh. It would be Pace, I believe.Q. Pace?
A. I believe. You know, can I tell you, it was so long ago, I don’t — it’s in the Jurassic period.Q. What were you studying at Pace?
A. Psychology.Q. And have you had any further education beyond the level that you completed at Pace?
A. Formal, no.
Knutsen did not identify a degree. She identified the institution only as “Pace, I believe,” while placing it in Toronto. Pace University is located in New York, not Toronto.
Later in the same deposition, Knutsen clarified that her formal psychology education was limited. When asked whether she had studied child sexual abuse, she testified that she had taken one course and cautioned that she did not want to give the impression that she knew anything about psychology.
A. I took one course on it. I don’t want to fabricate or give you the illusion that I know anything about psychology.
Despite this testimony, Knutsen later participated in promoting the false claim that Karen Cegalis had no education or had fabricated her academic degrees. Unlike many allegations, this one has an objective answer. Universities issue degrees. Either they exist or they do not.

My bachelor’s degree was awarded by the University of Alaska Anchorage. My master’s degree was awarded by Southern New Hampshire University. I was also accepted into a doctoral program at Southern New Hampshire University, as shown by the acceptance letter above.
The accusation that I had no education or had fabricated my degrees was objectively false.
The contrast is difficult to miss. Knutsen could not clearly identify the last college she attended, placed “Pace” in a city where Pace University is not located, identified no degree, and testified that she did not want to create the illusion that she knew anything about psychology. She nevertheless helped promote a narrative questioning academic credentials that are visible on this page.
There is nothing to interpret and nothing to speculate about. The accusation is disproven by the degrees themselves.
Verify the Degrees Yourself
You don’t have to take my word for it.
If you have any doubt about the authenticity of these degrees, contact the issuing universities directly. In fact, every professional employer I have worked for has verified my education as part of the pre-employment screening process. They didn’t ask my critics whether my degrees were real. They asked the universities that issued them.

As for checking Marilyn’s transcript from Pace University, I recommend contacting the campus in New York, since that is where Pace University is located. I have been unable to locate the Toronto campus referenced in the deposition. If someone finds it, along with its psychology department, I’d be genuinely interested.
