- May 9, 2012 – False Allegations Reach the Emergency Room

Five days after Raymond Knutsen repeated his false allegations in a police report, he and Marilynn took my six year old son to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, claiming he had been sexually abused. By this point, the same story had already been presented to family court and law enforcement. Now it was being brought into a hospital emergency room.

The medical examination found no evidence of sexual abuse. Despite the extraordinary claims made by Raymond and Marilynn, the emergency room records documented no physical findings consistent with the allegations they had spent days promoting.

The records also captured far more than the examination itself. Marilynn provided hospital staff with an extraordinary account of my supposed mental health history, falsely claiming that I suffered from bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, multiple personality disorder, and polysubstance abuse. In the same conversation, she assured hospital staff that neither she nor Raymond had any history of mental illness or substance abuse.

Years later, the family court would reach its own conclusions about how these allegations had been created, finding that my son had been coached to make false claims. The emergency room visit was not the discovery of abuse. It was another step in a campaign to manufacture evidence where none existed.
