On June 27, 2012, Marilyn Knutsen sat for a sworn deposition and told the story that would reshape my life.
She testified that a routine fishing trip with my son suddenly became a disclosure of extraordinary abuse. She claimed he described costumes, cross-dressing, tails inserted into his rectum, duct tape, and years of secrecy.
She said she believed him.
Then she and Raymond Knutsen went to the Castleton Police Department.
That decision changed everything.
Marilyn’s allegations triggered police investigations, DCF involvement, forensic interviews, psychological evaluations, a search warrant for my home, years of family court litigation, and ultimately my permanent separation from my son.
The remarkable part of Marilyn’s testimony is not simply what she claimed happened during the fishing trip.
It is how quickly the story grew.
Within the same deposition, the allegations expanded to include duct tape, thumb sucking, tea parties, spring skiing, diapers, drugging, transvestite costumes, people tied to chairs, numerous alleged witnesses, and claims that multiple adults knew what was happening but remained silent.
Marilyn did not describe one isolated incident.
She built an entire world.
In that world, my son had supposedly endured years of bizarre abuse. Friends and family had allegedly witnessed it. Teachers had allegedly noticed the signs. A dentist had allegedly reacted with horror. Other adults supposedly knew, but no one had acted.
Marilyn presented this story under oath as fact.
Her testimony became one of the foundational narratives of my case.
It helped drive the investigation forward. It gave shape to the allegations repeated by others. It contributed to the machinery that entered my life and never fully left.
The articles on this website examine Marilyn’s claims one by one against the public record.
Police reports. Search warrants. Medical records. Court filings. Deposition transcripts. Trial testimony. Civil litigation. Government documents.
The fishing trip was only the opening scene.
This deposition reveals the much larger story Marilyn Knutsen told, how far that story expanded, and how profoundly it changed my life.
