Massachusetts Board Disciplines Bambi Rattner Following Ethics Investigation

The Massachusetts Board of Registration of Psychologists entered into a public Consent Agreement with psychologist Bambi Rattner, Psy.D., resolving an ethics investigation arising from her professional involvement in a child custody matter. Rather than proceed to a disciplinary hearing, Rattner accepted a negotiated disciplinary agreement that placed her psychology license on probation for a minimum of three years.

According to the Consent Agreement, Rattner acknowledged that, if the matter proceeded to a hearing, the Board could find she assumed a child custody evaluation role despite conflicts of interest and multiple relationships that impaired her impartiality. The agreement further states the Board could find she reinforced a false trauma narrative, conducted inadequate examinations, relied on misinterpreted assessment results, and violated multiple provisions of the American Psychological Association’s Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct.

The disciplinary order required Rattner to practice under the weekly supervision of a Board-approved psychologist with expertise in family systems and high-conflict divorce matters, complete additional continuing education, submit quarterly reports to the Board, and satisfy other conditions before becoming eligible to petition for termination of probation.
